Just a reminder that we follow Frederick Count Public School closings due to weather. Our spring break follows also FCPS from April 2-9, 2012.
GIGI TOTE BAG FUNDRAISER IS HERE! Bags on display and each studnent will be bring home a letter about his fundraiser, a brochure and an order form. If you can help us, they are pretty and will last forever! This runs from Feb. 1st through Feb. 15th.
HAPPENINGS
1. Master Class in Fencing. Saturday , February 18th 3pm to 5pm
Location: SSSPA 3:00pm-5:00pm
SSSPA Students fee $10 per person/Guest fee $12 per person.
Ages 9 and up, or by recommendation.
2. Auditions for May Show will be held in the Spring date (TBA)
Call will be for Actors, Singers and Dancers for Mother Goose’s Story Book to be held on Saturday, January 14th
Children ages 4 to 8 from 1:00 pm to 2:30pm;
Children from ages 9 to 11 from 3:00pm to 4:30 pm
Pre-teen/Teen ages 12 and up from 5:pm to 7:30pm
Adults (18 and over) please call or email to secure your audition time.
Note there is a $50 performance fee for SSSPA students and $60 for Guests with this production with 14 total rehearsals starting in February (4th, 11th, 18th, 25th,) March (3rd, 10th, 17th , 30th ) April ( 14th, 21st, 28th, 29th ), May (4th, 5th) with Performance Date Weekend of May 12-13.
Please bring an informal head shot with resume and call studio to reserve space.
3. GIGI HANDBAG FUNDRAISER for SSSPA coming soon for tote bags to make sure you do not have to pay those plastic bag fees at the grocery or anywhere you shop. Look for display shortly at the studio with order sheets. No need to take time at a party! In and out, quick and easy -- Just you by yourself at SSSPA, booklet with prices and order sheet. Purchases to come in within 10 days of purchase. Starts Feb 1st. Forms coming home with students.
4. First competition for ECDT trios, duets and solos is February 17-19 ! Break A Leg Girls. .
ZUMBA IS BACK WITH US ON TUESDAYS AT 7:30PM.
Remember you can still join us for class but it will now be as a technique class only because we have begun to place our recital costume orders.WE DO AMAZING BIRTHDAY DANCE PARTIES AND GIRL SCOUT BADGE EVENTS .
REMEMBER AS A 501 (c) (3) WE NEED YOUR HELP WITH VOLUNTEER HOURS. EACH FAMILY WHO HAS ENROLLED HAS PROMISED 5 HOURS. PLEASE CALL OR EMAIL US IF YOU CAN VOLUNTEER.
WHY DO DANCE?
Dance does so much for the character building of your child. When your child dances with us , he or she learns more than dance. First, it is fun. More than that dance teaches kids respect, focus, timeliness, ability to work in groups, learn leadership skills and impeccable manners. Your child will learn the beauty and feel of sweet success through accomplishment and sincere effort. Entitlement weakens our children but real time accomplishment developes resilience and the ability to face and handle change and challenge. Dancing keeps everyone healthy and happy. .
SSSPA is devoted to providing opportunities to participate in all aspects of performing arts. We offer professional level training in ballet, pre-pointe, pointe, lyrical, tap, acro, musical theater, voice, hip-hop and more.
